Banana-Pomegranate Yoghurt Smoothie

January 22, 2015 by Cris 8 Comments

A humble but delicious and healthy smoothie that highlights pomegranate, yoghurt and banana. I am definitely a pomegranate maniac this month. Hooray!

 Banana-Pomegranate Yoghurt Smoothie
I guess everyone already knows how much I love yoghurt. Maybe it’s because I was fortunate to live in Greece for a while where any yogurt is HEAVEN on earth, or maybe I am aware of all its health benefits, but the true is that especially Greek yoghurt it’s the one item from my pantry I could never give up. NEVER!

So imagine how happy I was when the guys from Chobani asked me a few days back if I would still be interested in participating in their new #MadeWithChobani project. I said “still” as I currently live in Germany and their yoghurt is not available here yet.

Honestly, I don’t know how the Chobani yoghurt tastes, but the moment I read Chobani’s objective – increasing awareness of yogurt’s versatility – I jumped to the opportunity and said YES to this beautiful project.

As I seem to have lately developed a cozy relationship with pomegranate, I decided to mix it with yoghurt in order to get a creamy smoothie to kick my day off right.

Pomegranate is not only delicious and sweet but also highly nutritious. It’s rich in vitamins C and B5, potassium and also antioxidants. It’s also considered high in fiber.

Did you know that a pomegranate will last up to a month on the counter? Amazing! You could also remove the seeds, freeze them and make great use of them by adding them to your favorite smoothies, salads, muffins, cakes and even sauces. The possibilities are endless.

Here are my latest recipes with pomegranate you might enjoy.
1. Brussels sprouts and Pomegranate Salad with Prawns
2. Pomegranate and Goji Berry Muffins

So today I am sharing with you my new favorite smoothie this month – made with dates instead of honey, pomegranate, soy milk and sesame seeds.

As I wanted my smoothie to have a really creamy texture, I decided to add yoghurt and banana to the mix – just what this healthy treat was crying for. So creamy, so healthy … so much more.

What’s tasty, easy, and has lots of health benefits? Of course, it’s YOGHURT! I really hope you are yogurt eater as its health benefits are so impressive – calcium, protein, vitamins B2, B12, potassium, and magnesium to name a few.

Et Voilà – Banana-Pomegranate Yoghurt Smoothie. Let me know how much you love it!
