Why I Love Trail Running

July 11, 2016 by Cris 2 Comments

Why I Love Trail Running-1

Wuppertal-Sonnborn, Germany

Back in June 2014, I was thrilled to announce my very first post on the blog which was, of course, a recipe called Summery Salad. By the way, if you haven’t tried it yet, don’t waste any more precious time and get to it as it only takes 5 minutes to be prepared and requires no cooking whatsoever. 😉

2 WOW years!!! … It’s has been two years of sharing with YOU mostly recipes (plant-based, energizing ones) that I still enjoy on a daily basis, two happy years of regular running and motivation, two amazing years of SELF transformation!

After two years of transitioning from barely jogging to running about 200 miles per month, as well as taking up racing, I feel so lucky everyday to have found this life that always leaves me with a smile.

Massive THANK you to Diego that has got me into racing in the first place, to Stefan and João for always pushing my limits, to Running Team Grafenberg for accepting me into their awesome running group, and to all of YOU for all the support and so many beautiful comments! Thank YOU for reading this blog!

I know I haven’t been that active in here lately, but it’s mainly because I needed to figure out the path I am taking myself to, the spin around marathons and ultra trail races is sustainable in the long run, and ultimately, my love for trail running is unconditional.

Now, 24 months on, my love for trails feels like:

1) There’s nothing like it …

2) I must be nuts but I find my tribe …

3) The glue to my heart binding to my own potential spiritual growth …

4) The void I linger for that my dear friend and blogger Joao talks about on his blog – Running the void …

5) Courageous adventures …

6) The pure happiness and gratitude …

7) The sweet taste of a serene childhood …

8) My karma …

9) The feeling that is what love stories should be really written about …

10) The most authentic version of myself …

You tell me now, what’s not to love?!

A trail running girl, THE power girl, the queen of trails, the queen of running – you name it! Of course this life frightens me sometimes as well, but I am still going to give it hundred percent and go as far as I can. All the way in!!!

What is your why? What makes you tick?

Stay tuned for my first trail marathon experience and how I ended up on the podium again. 😉

Stay healthy & be happy!
Xoxo Cris
